More janky makeup products!
In case you missed my first installment of my face makeup holy grails (which you can find here), below I have listed my holy grail eyes/lip products in every category I could think of. Eye makeup is probably my favorite part of my entire makeup routine, so I especially enjoyed listing those products. Like my other post, I linked all of the products down below so you can check them out!
One classic YouTube hack for eyeshadow primer is to use your concealer and set it with a loose powder. I’ll use my Tarte Shape Tape, Colourpop No Filter, or Urban Decay Naked Concealer. It saves you a little bit of money and gets the job done just as well as an actual eyeshadow primer. However, if you’re looking for a recommendation, you can splurge on the Urban Decay Primer Potion or save with the Milani Eyeshadow Primer.
It was impossible to choose just one palette. I have several that I go back-and-forth with. The first product I absolutely love is the Persona Cosmetics Identity Palette. I was initially attracted to the illustrated Parisian scene on the front (not gonna lie!) and intuitively knew this palette was for me. I wasn’t wrong! It was created to enhance brown eyes but don’t let that deter you if you have green or blue. The mattes blend seamlessly, but I’m especially in love with the shimmers. There isn’t one color in this palette that doesn’t work.
My other go-to palette is the Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette. This is another palette where the quality of each shadow is there, and the possibilities of looks that come out of this product are endless- just do a quick YouTube search and see for yourself. When I look at this I feel genuinely excited and inspired, and that’s what makes a product worth the money! If you’re interested in purchasing it I highly recommend watching Jaclyn’s video where she goes into depth about each shade and gives you some tips.
Side note: I love the e.l.f. Daily Brush Cleaner Spray for giving my tools a quick clean in between uses. This doesn’t replace deep cleaning (which you should do every couple of weeks), it’s just for a day-to-day purpose.
I don’t use eyeliners as much as I used to in the past. I usually mess up and then that ruins my eyeshadow- an unnecessary slippery slope I’ve come to avoid. But when I’m in the mood for a snatched cat-eye I’ll turn to the NYX Epic Ink liner. It’s easy to use and pigmented so you’re done with the look in one swipe.
I can’t tell you the number of products I’ve tried from drugstore to Dior. I have little stubby lashes, and I want my mascara to give length and volume. My current favorite is the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect. It does everything I want it to and holds throughout the day with no problems.
Once you put on your first pair of falsies, you’ll never look back. Lashes can be super expensive and you can only get a few uses out of them. I love the Ardell Lashes from the drugstore in Natural 110 and the Demi Wispies. I never have to worry about trimming the band, and they’re super comfortable. Definitely suggest buying the multipacks for the most value! (Don’t have a picture because I ran out of clean lashes!)
I have natural thick and dark eyebrows so luckily I don’t have to do too much to them. The only product I use is an eyebrow pencil, and I’ve gone between the ABH, NYX, and currently the Maybelline (#brokelife) pencil. Formula-wise I find that they’re all pretty much the same. I like the tone of the ABH and Maybelline pencils better than NYX’s which is too red for me.
Random I know, but recently the Jouer Lip Enhancer has come into my possession and I’m obsessed. My lips are always dry but this treatment has really made a difference. It keeps my lips moisturized for long periods of time and diminishes the fine lines. I put it on and let it sink in while I’m doing my eye and face makeup, so by the time I get to lips they’re soft and I can wear anything on top of them.
Now we’re on to lippies! No look is complete without a good lip, which I for some reason tend to forget until the absolute last second. My two favorites are the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lippies. Both are affordable and have beautiful shade ranges. The formulas aren’t drying and last me all day.
I recently been more into glosses. My favorite gloss of all time is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb. They only have one shade (it’s meant to be universal), but I hope in the future they come out with more! The formula isn’t sticky or heavy and the color is opaque and absolutely gorgeous. It’s my dream gloss. If you’re looking for a large shade range, I also love the NYX (I just love NYX huh) Butter Glosses/Intense Butter Glosses. They’re two different ranges with the Intense line obviously having more intense color payoff, but both equally as good. I especially love the shades Angel Food Cake and Peanut Brittle.
Truthfully I don’t use lip liners that much. If I do use one it’ll be the Rimmel Long Lasting Lip Pencils. They are easy to use and comfortable on the lips. There’s no sense in buying high-end liners when the drugstore matches that kind of quality! (Also don’t have a photo of this product, which probably speaks to how often I use it!)
